Statement from the SIBT Committee
With the recent heavy downturn in cases here in Grenada, we are paying serious thought to putting an event together in January so our regular participants can enjoy some safe and controlled fishing here in Grenada.
Dear Colleagues, Supporters and Sponsors,
Our colleagues and friends all throughout the region and internationally have observed how COVID affected the tiny islands of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Thankfully, due to the hard word done by our Government and Ministry of Health, we have managed to get some sort of hold on the spread of this deadly virus.
With the recent heavy downturn in cases here in Grenada, we are paying serious thought to putting an event together in January so our regular participants can enjoy some safe and controlled fishing here in Grenada. The demand for our island at this point in time is sky high and we simply want to deliver. We have started the process of communication with the relevant authorities and will try our utmost to pass on solid information as soon as possible to all of our supporters regionally and internationally so planning can be executed.
What we do know for sure and what we are requesting from the authorities is this event, if granted permission for, will be a FULLY VACCINATED event. All participants and visitors to the GYC will have to be fully vaccinated to ensure we keep this event as safe as possible.
We have also lost colleagues over the past few months and we think it is essential we find some way to gather in their memory, it only makes sense for us to do that and remember the good times and contributions made.

Wish us luck, we will try our best!
