As a committee, we think it is important for our supporters to be very much aware of how fluid the situation is here in Grenada. We would also like our supporters to understand the job done thus far by the Government and the Health Officials. Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique has had NO fatalities yet.

Dear Friends & Colleagues,

It is with great regret that we have to inform our supporters that we are left with no choice but to cancel the event that was initially scheduled for January 2021.

As a committee, we think it is important for our supporters to be very much aware of how fluid the situation is here in Grenada. We would also like our supporters to understand the job done thus far by the Government and the Health Officials. Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique has had NO fatalities yet. We have also seen little or no community spread since the virus touched our shores. For this, they have to be highly commended.

As a region we have to understand how important it is to take extreme measures now, to ensure we are in a position to welcome visitors in a safe and effective manner once regular air/sea travel resumes in the region. We do feel that the protocols that will have to be in place for this event to materialise would cast a grey cloud over the enjoyment of the actual event by participants. We have simply gotten too big to pull this off with so many protocols in place.

We are very disappointed but in the same breath we are relieved that we are not taking a step that we may regret later. We see this as an opportunity to reflect, plan and execute one of the best tournaments ever in January 2022!

Despite the cancellation of the 2021 event, we would like to reach out to all that planned on visiting Grenada next January. If time and logistics permit, we would still like to welcome all to our shores once the protocols in place are followed. Spend some time in our lovely island and take a break from your hectic schedule. Help us stimulate our economy in one way or the other but most importantly, come do some fishing!
