While the Government of Grenada recognizes and commends the tremendous efforts being made by the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the WHO, we believe that in light of the accelerated rate of confirmed cases, the decision of some of our fellow CARICOM nations and the need to alleviate the uneasiness of our citizens in Grenada, we must make this decision, to prevent the global threat from reaching our borders. As a responsible Government we are guided by both the international suggested protocols and separately by the wishes and concerns of our citizenry. It is in an effort to find the balance between these two guiding principles that we have made this decision.
The travel ban on non-nationals with recent travel history to mainland China and the mandatory quarantine for Grenadians returning home after visiting or transiting through mainland China, will remain in effect until further notice. All travelers are urged to be guided accordingly.
