Fay-Ann Lyons-Alvarez is to take over the running of the International Soca Monarch competition 2019. This is after the resignation of the current chairman Peter Scoon, it was confirmed by National Carnival Commission (NCC) Chairman Winston “Gypsy” Peters.
The International Soca Monarch has suffered from dwindling audience numbers in the past and is usually held on the Friday before Carnival on what is commonly known as Fantastic Friday.
