Digicel goes for faster – Company lights up Grenada with Super Fast LTE Service
Customers can now enjoy blazing-fast mobile speeds on Grenada’s speediest network, Digicel
St. George, Grenada Nov 30th, 2018 – Customers can now enjoy blazing-fast mobile speeds on Grenada’s speediest network, Digicel. The company’s data network picked up significantly more momentum when it switched on a new Long-Term Evolution (LTE) network today. The move is part of its Digicel 2030 commitment to always introduce innovation that delivers record-breaking performance and an amazing network experience for customers.
LTE is the very latest in commercially available mobile data technology, packing speeds up to 10 times faster than 4G. It is capable of running multiple applications smoothly, so that customers can share large files and multi-task. It also enables glitch-free High Definition video and streaming in real-time whether on a smartphone, tablet or other internet-enabled device.
“We are very excited about moving data at blindingly fast speeds because this is very important to the way our customers connect, work and play. This is good news for Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique because advancements in mobile technologies is a key economic development driver for businesses and consumers ” said CEO of Digicel Shrivon Redhead.
The activation of LTE is another first-to-market for Digicel and is also a major plank of its Network for the Future commitment – an advanced multi-faceted technology investment designed to equip Grenadians with the most modern communications and entertainment infrastructure, while improving the country’s rate of internet penetration. To this, Ms. Redhead commented, “Besides upgrading the way people connect, LTE gives a boost to local productivity and opens up significant earning and employment opportunities for the people of Grenada.”.
