On Thursday 25th. April 2019, The Communal Co-operative Credit Union Limited launched its first Connex ATM on the Sister Isle of Carriacou. The launch took place at the Alexis Food Store Car Park in Harvey Vale where Union Officials, Alexis Stores Management and invited guests were in attendance.
The Connex ATM is the first of its kind to be launched in Carriacou. Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, local Government and Legal Affairs Hon. Kindra Maturine-Stewart who was present at the launch said “It was indeed a honor and privileged to have been afforded the opportunity to be a part of the Communal Cooperative Credit Union Connex ATM Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the Alexis Food Stores in Harvey Vale, Carriacou on Thursday“.
Minister Stewart further stated that she “considers this initiative to be a very positive one and I am sure it will result in tremendous benefits not just to the persons in this community, but to the people of Carriacou and Petite Martinique on a whole. In examining the critical importance of this initiative, we must take heed to the recent upflow in economic and or commercial activities in this community, in particular, the Alexis Food Stores, the Port facility and the many other businesses established in this community in recent times.”
