Hillsborough, Carriacou – January 24th, 2020: The Carriacou and Petite Festivals Board and the Carriacou Carnival Committee are reminding promoters and other entertainment industry personnel that permission must be sought to host an event during the annual carnival season. Further, we also wish to remind persons that the terms of the agreement must be adhered to when permission is granted.
The reminder comes against the backdrop of a recent situation in which a promoter sought and received permission to host a catamaran cruise but then opted for use of a much larger vessel, without first consulting the Festivals Board and the Carnival Committee responsible for granting such permission.
The Carriacou Festival’s Board and the Carnival Committee have since stated that the options available to the promoter are as follows:

In light of this and in an attempt to avoid similar circumstances, the Carriacou Festivals Board and Carnival Committee have reiterated the need for promoters to seek permission and to adhere to the stated terms when such permission is granted.
